Fashion Friday

Posted in Fashion File Fridays on September 30th, 2009 by Sinoun – 4 Comments

I’m still alive! I’ve been slacking on the movie front, but I’m breathing some life back into the fashion segment. Here’s another edition of Fashion Friday (which is just an arbitrary title…it is only Wednesday after all.)

Ciara

Ciara

Ciara is all class in this gorgeous Thakoon creation. Not a single thing wrong with this picture right here, from her pose to her toes (well, those Christian Louboutins covering her toes that is), and the stylin’ mane framing her impeccably-made up face. Pretty much my favorite look of the week, which is why it’s first.

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester

Aside from the overly-fried hair Leighton Meester looks stunning in her futuristic glam mini. The bold footwear (shoes? sandals? boots?) add an extra dimension of drama! Love it a lot!

Shakira

Shakira

Um…wow. Where to start? The golden locks, the crisscross-jewel-encrusted dress, the latex leg gloves… these are a few of my favorite things.

Olivia Wilde

Olivia Wilde

GQ cover girl Olivia Wilde is the current face for the new Escada fragrance “Desire Me”, and while I don’t quite desire you, Olivia, I do desire those shoes! And behold the way that shiny silvery sheath enhances her striking grey peepers!

Beyonce

Beyonce

This was the dress BeyoncĂ© wore when she saved the day at the VMA’s after Taylor Swift got dissed by Kanye West (who I still like as a matter of fact!) B looks ravishing as always, proving that she doesn’t need to be in the spotlight to shine.

Freida Pinto

Freida Pinto

Oh how I envy the wardrobe opportunities of Freida P… and it’s all thanks to one movie. One starring role and she’s already a fashion maven, but I’m not hatin’. I just want those unaffordable Rupert Sanderson pumps – I love them so much I would sleep in them.

Well, that’s it for this week. Keep your peepers peeled for more upcoming fashion non-exclusives!

Mila Kunis – The New Megan Fox?

I’m gonna go ahead and call it, right here, right now – Mila Kunis, the new Megan Fox.

Blasphemy you say?

Well, have you seen Mila lately? This isn’t the same cute-but-bratty Jackie from That 70’s Show, or the anonymous bit-role actor of the 90’s. This is a new (maybe surgically improved?) Mila Kunis, who seems to have transformed from doe-eyed beauty to sultry siren quicker than anyone can say “next It girl”.

Her star meter on IMDB has increased by 100% (granted, Fox has gone up by 450% – don’t ask me how they calculate this, for I haven’t got a clue), she’s been making waves on the red carpet and she’s got some major movies lined up, most notably The Book of Eli with Denzel Washington coming out later this fall. There’s even talk of a super-secret script by Darren Aronofsky for Black Swan that calls for a passionate love scene with… Natalie Portman. Yeah, you heard that. I’ve been seeing her name everywhere on the web these days, so when I google-imaged “Mila Kunis” I was stunned by how flawless-looking she’s become. That’s when the Megan Fox comparison began. But maybe I’m just getting ahead of myself. I mean, Fox will continue to dominate the “sexiest actress” throne for a while, especially with Jennifer’s Body hitting theaters next week, but I definitely sense some strong competition coming from Kunis.

What do you think? Is Mila Kunis the new Megan Fox? Or is she just a flash in the pan actress who’s nowhere near Fox’s league?

New York, I Love You

Posted in Clips, Trailers on September 2nd, 2009 by Sinoun – Be the first to comment

In the city that never sleeps, love is always on the mind. Those passions come to life in a collaboration of storytelling from some of today’s most imaginative filmmakers and featuring an all-star cast. Together they create a kaleidoscope of the spontaneous, surprising, electrifying human connections that pump the city’s heartbeat. Sexy, funny, haunting and revealing encounters unfold beneath the Manhattan skyline. From Tribeca to Central Park to Brooklyn the story weaves a tale of love as diverse as the very fabric of New York itself.”

I know, copy/paste is a complete cop-out, but I just couldn’t think of a better way to describe the movie. Needless to say, I can’t wait, mainly for the impressive cast which features Anton Yelchin, Shia LaBoeuf, current it-boy Bradley Cooper and tons of others, including the unambiguously hot duo Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen. With Zach Braff tacked on as a director, it’s likely to be smothered in syrupy-sweet sentimentality – and that’s a good thing!
